Online Courses:A Blessing or a Curse?

In this age when any information can be transmitted quickly over the Internet, online courses have become prevalent in numerous universities, and students could take the subjects of courses what they are required or interested in.Nevertheless, because of the early rapid expansion, some courses’quality can not be guaranteed, which leads a lot of students think that classroom teaching is much better than teleclasses. In addiction, students with strong self-discipline are more suitable for online courses, because that the teacher on the other side of the computer can’t notice if students are listening carefully or not.
How then should we think of online courses in our information era with its real imperfection ?The answer,it seems to me,is crystal clear.Like many things, though online courses for students is at times a blessing and at times a curse, their advantages far outweigh their disadvantages.
First of all, students can get online courses with computers or smartphones with an Internet connection,it’s so convenient. What is also convenient or to put it another way, what is very flexible is that class time can be adjusted, and video can be repeated during a period of time.Second, the significant amount of online courses cover many subject areas, take a MOOC(Massive Open Online Course)platform named as Coursera for example,it covers biology ,physics ,economics ,computer science ,mathematics ,management ,history and so on.Last but not least, there are so many online courses are added multilingual subtitles,so that non-native English speakers can study on his own efforts, for example ,as Chinese students,we can take foreign online courses that with Chinese subtitles, which can better broaden our horizons as well as accumulate knowledge. So that the users of online courses should seek to benefit as fully as possible from the blessing and as far as possible avoid invoking the curse.
